Overview
Propane, also known as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or propane autogas, is a byproduct of natural gas processing and crude oil refining and has been used worldwide as a vehicle fuel for decades. It is stored as a liquid, and propane fueling infrastructure is widespread. Currently, about 190,000 vehicles are powered by propane in the United States.
